On January 20, 2021, former Google engineer Anthony Levandowski was among those pardoned by President Donald Trump before the President left office.
In August 2020, Levandowski was sentenced to 18 months in prison for stealing trade secrets and downloading 14,000 files of intellectual property related to a Waymo self-driving car project, before leaving Google to launch his own company, Otto. At the time of his pardon, Levandowski had not yet begun his sentence, as it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
