On July 26, 2021, a data breach occurred at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, in which a hacker stole login credentials including usernames and passwords of ticket holders and event volunteers.
Tokyo 2020 Olympic officials claim the data breach is was “not large;” however, the Japanese government has prepared itself for additional, high-profile attacks by simulating potential data security attacks via a program called Cyber Colosseum.
