Thousands of User Computers Impacted by Cryptojacking Script Found in Open Source Libraries

    On August 19, 2019, a Decrypt report announced that cryptojacking scripts were found in 11 open-source code libraries in the Github code repository for popular programming language Ruby.

    Cryptojacking is the unauthorized use of an individual’s computer to mine cryptocurrency. According to the report, hackers infected RubyGems with malicious code, affecting over 3,500 downloads.
