Second Circuit Court Sides with Record Companies in Copyright Infringement Case

    The Second Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court’s stipulated judgment on December 12, 2018, finding that online marketplace company ReDigi Inc. infringed Capital Records, LLC’s sound recordings through unauthorized reproduction and distribution of copyrighted works.

    The copyright infringement dispute began in January 2012, when Capital Records alleged ReDigi’s Music Manager software allowed users to create duplicate digital files for resale.
