On March 5, 2021, renewable energy technology company Lancium LLC and Bitcoin mining company Layer1 Technologies reached a settlement in the patent infringement matter of Lancium LLC v. Layer1 Technologies, Inc. held in the U.S. Court for the Western District of Texas.
The dispute began in August 2020, when Lancium alleged that Layer1 had infringed upon their patented Smart Response™ software.
