On September 14, 2021, patient Heather Betz filed a lawsuit against St. Joseph’s and Candler Health System, Inc., following a December 2020 through June 2021 data breach, for the health system’s alleged recklessness and negligence in protecting patent data and personal health information (PHI).
The data breach impacted over 1.4 million patients.
