NYC Approves Data Privacy Regulation Concerning Food Delivery Software Applications

    On August 29, 2021,  the New York City Administrative Code Int. 2311-2021 was passed into law by the New York City Council, which regulates the data collected by food delivery applications.

    The amendment permits restaurants to request individual customer data from food delivery applications, and the applications will be required to give restaurants such data, unless a customer has opted out of data sharing. The bill will go in effect on December 27, 2021.
