Google Inc. and Apple Inc. independently announced that they will suspend “grading” user audio recordings for their Google Home and Siri voice assistant systems.

Google and Apple suspended the programs amid growing public and political scrutiny of data privacy practices, as contractors regularly listened to user’s confidential information and private conversations while grading audio recordings.
