EU Law Enforcement Agency Europol Shuts Down Over 30,500 Infringing Websites

    On December 2, 2019, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) announced that it had seized over 30,500 domain names that distributed counterfeit and pirated products and services over the internet.

    The investigation was a global operation conducted with assistance from the U.S. National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Centre, and led to the seizure of domains selling counterfeit television streaming services, software, and electronics.
