On October 26, 2021, a massive failure of all 4,300 gas stations occurred in Iran, likely due to a foreign cyberattack.
The cyberattack did not damage any of the equipment at the gas stations, however, it caused various difficulties, including having to pause serving customers. While the software failure disrupted the fuel sales, they were able to proceed with sales in manual mode.
