On May 20, 2021, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) updated their data security advisory entitled “DarkSide Ransomware: Best Practices for Preventing Business Disruption from Ransomware Attacks,” which was originally released on May 11, 2021.
The advisory warns organizations of heightened risks of cyber attacks, and recommends companies take action to mitigate data security and data breach risks, including: “implementing robust network segmentation between IT and OT networks; regularly testing manual controls; and ensuring that backups are implemented, regularly tested, and isolated from network connections.”
