California Consumer Privacy Act Officially in Effect January 1, 2020

    On January 1, 2020, the much-anticipated California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) went into effect, after it was signed nearly a year and a half ago.

    The CCPA grants several data privacy protections to individuals, including the right to (1) know what personal information is being collected, (2) access that data, (3) know who it is being sold to, and (4) opt out of those sales.
