On August 24, 2021, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California awarded cybersecurity firm Proofpoint $13.5 million against French email security firm Vade Secure, in the intellectual property matter of Proofpoint, Inc. et al v. Vade Secure, Incorporated et al.
The court determined that Vade “willfully and maliciously misappropriated over a dozen trade secrets and infringed copyrights belonging to Proofpoint,” relating to anti-spear phishing software.
