On July 7, 2021, Toronto-based gaming company Engine Media announced that subsidiary company Winview had filed a copyright and patent infringement lawsuit against online sports betting company DraftKings for allegedly infringing upon two Winview patents.
The patents in dispute relate to geolocation and equalizing latency technologies, which enables and ensures live betting customers see the same odds displayed on the betting platform at the same time.
