Wendy’s Agrees to $50 Million Data Breach Settlement

    On February 13, 2019, Wendy’s Company agreed to pay $50 million to 26 financial institutions to settle a data breach lawsuit that affected more than 1,000 locations in 2015 and 2016.

    The lawsuit began in April 2016 over allegations that Wendy’s was negligent in a breach that occurred after criminals installed malware on the restaurant’s point-of-sale systems.
