On January 21, 2022, driverless car company Waymo filed a lawsuit against California’s DMV because they wanted to protect information regarding the public safety of a driverless car.
Waymo fears that if this information leaks, their competitors will be able to use this information and significantly damage Waymo’s market share. The information they are trying to withhold contains various driverless car safety concerns.
