Video Game Piracy Site UberChips to Pay $2 Million Over Nintendo Switch Infringement

    On September 30, 2020, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio decided in the matter of Nintendo of America, Inc. v. Dilts, et. al. that video game piracy website Uberchips.com must pay Nintendo $2 million in damages for selling products that allow users to illegally download Nintendo Switch video games.

    The court also ordered a permanent injunction against UberChips, and required the piracy website to destroy its remaining product stock and release its domain name to Nintendo.
