Pilot Sues Delta Airlines for Allegedly Stealing Internal Communications Application Trade Secrets

    On July 14, 2021, Delta Pilot Craig Alexander filed an intellectual property infringement and trade secret misappropriation lawsuit against Delta Airlines for allegedly stealing ideas for an internal text messaging communications platform for use by airline crew members, for Delta’s Flight Family Communication application.

    Alexander states that he had brought his ideas for the application to Delta CEO in 2014 and was told that the airline company would purchase the platform. However, Delta released their Flight Family Communication application in 2018. The Alexander is seeking $1 million for the allegedly stolen trade secrets.
