On February 3, 2020, Peloton Interactive, Inc. and Flywheel Sports, Inc. reached a settlement in their two-year patent infringement dispute that began in September 2018 wherein Flywheel agreed to “immediately cease its use of Peloton’s patented technology.”
Peloton alleged that Flywheel’s Fly Anywhere bike infringed upon several software patents related to their graphical user interface or “Leaderboard,” which displays live and archived cycling content, tracks rider performance, and detects, synchronizes, and compares rider performance against the performance of other remote riders.
