McDonald’s Falls Victim to Data Breach Impacting Customers in the U.S., South Korea, and Taiwan

    On June 11, 2021, McDonald’s announced that the fast-food chain had suffered a data breach that impacted several stores in the U.S., South Korea, and Taiwan.

    An investigation into the full extent of the breach is ongoing, but McDonald’s claims that only store-related information was stolen from the company’s U.S. locations, while customer data such as emails, phone numbers, and addresses, as well as employee data was breached at the company’s South Korean and Taiwanese locations respectively.
