FTC Enforces Health Breach Notification Rule for Health-Related Applications

On October 5, 2021, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that health applications collecting user health information, such as weight, height, heart rate, and other sensitive medical data, must follow the Health Breach Notification Rule, which will increase the security of personal health records and decrease the number of breaches in the healthcare industry.
