FTC Bans Support King from Surveillance Business for Lack of Data Security Measures

    On September 1, 2021, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) banned Support King, LLC and its CEO, Scott Zuckerman from “offering, promoting, selling, or advertising any surveillance app, service or business.”

    Support King operator SpyFone.com allegedly allowed users to illegally surveil other users by secretly monitoring a user’s activity without the user’s knowledge. The FTC also claims that SpyFone failed to have basic security measures in place to protect users’ personal information.
