FBI Releases Warning in Light of Coronavirus-Related Internet Fraud Schemes

    On March 20, 2020, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning to U.S. citizens regarding an increase in internet schemes related to the Coronavirus pandemic.

    Confirmed fraud instances include phishing emails appearing to be sent from (1) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) containing malware links intended to steal personal information and (2) government agencies requesting financial information, supposedly to secure receipt of an economic stimulus check.
