Facebook Discontinues Facial Recognition System

    On November 2, 2021, Meta, Facebook’s parent company, announced that they would cease the use of their facial recognition system and delete over one billion faceprints of people.

    Facebook decided to discontinue this system over growing concerns from the public and regulators.
