    Dr. Malaga holds a Ph.D. in information systems from George Mason University. He also has an M.S. in information systems technology from George Washington University and a B.A. in political science from American University. After his doctorate, he continued his education by completing the Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurial Educators (2015) and the University of Michigan’s certificate in Applied Machine Learning in Python (2019).

    Dr. Malaga is currently the Chair of the Information Management and Business Analytics Department at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. He also serves as Founding Co-Director of the Center for Business Analytics and Innovative Technologies. He has developed and taught courses in e-commerce, digital marketing, web development (PHP and SQL), blockchain, and generative artificial intelligence.

    Dr. Malaga has written several journal publications and book chapters. His papers have appeared in leading academic journals, including Communications of the ACM, Venture Capital, Decision Support Systems, and Electronic Commerce Research and Applications. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Information Management Resources Journal and the International Journal of Mobile and Blended Learning. He has also served on the editorial review board of the Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations, and served as a reviewer for the International Journal of Electronic Commerce, the International Journal of Electronic Business, and the Journal of Electronic Commerce Research.

    Dr. Malaga also serves as an expert witness on matters involving patent invalidation (via litigation and the Inter Partes Review process), digital privacy, copyright and trade secrets involving computer code, and analysis of Web analytics.
