On November 4, 2019, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida awarded medical software company Kipu Systems, LLC $19.5 million in damages in a breach of license dispute against customer-turned-competitor ZenCharts, LLC.
The dispute began in December 2017, when Kipu Systems alleged ZenCharts stole trade secrets for use in a competing electronic health records (EHR) system.
