Data Breach Affects Over 20 Million Individuals in Ecuador

    On September 16, 2019, the Ecuadorian State Attorney General’s Office announced that more than 20 million individuals’ personal data was allegedly breached by Ecuadorian data analytics company Novaestrat.

    The data breach was discovered on an unsecured server in Miami, and is believed to have exposed the private and financial information of all 16.5 million living Ecuadorian citizens and several million deceased individuals.
