Dallas District Court Rejects Request to Ban Sales of Oculus VR Headsets

    On June 27, 2018, a Dallas District Court judge rejected a request from Zenimax Media to ban sales of Facebook’s Oculus VR headsets.

    ZeniMax had alleged that a former employee stole source code before founding Oculus VR, which was subsequently purchased by Facebook. In the same ruling, the judge reduced by half a jury’s $500 million award to Zenimax for damages relating to copyright infringement.
