California AG Announces Online Consumer Reporting Tool Under the CCPA

    On July 19, 2021, Rob Banta, California State Attorney General (AG), announced the state government’s intentions to release a new consumer privacy tool and further data security enforcement efforts brought under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

    The online consumer reporting tool “allows consumers to directly notify businesses that they do not appear to comply with the CCPA.” The data privacy tool has launched on the AG’s website.
