On June 22, 2021, Amazon, Inc. announced a settlement with Freshub, Inc. in a patent infringement dispute related to three voice assistant technology patents.
Freshub alleged Amazon had infringed upon their patented technology in the Alexa virtual voice assistant devices, stating Amazon had breached a “voice processing system to collect, manage, and display items described by a user” owned by Freshub.
