On June 30, 2021, smart home and business security systems company ADT filed a patent infringement lawsuit against competitor security and alarm system company Vivint.
The patent in dispute relates to Vivint’s SkyControl Panel’s smart home integration, data collection, and control panel functions and interfaces. ADT alleges that Vivint’s security system infringes ADT patents including “predictive analytics, detection and diagnostics, and advanced user interfaces including voice control.”
