California Governor Signs CCPA Amendments into Law

    On October 11, 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed five amendments to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in addition to two amendments related to data privacy.

    The amendments provide clarification for industry specific data-sharing exemptions. The CCPA will go in effect January 1, 2020, with regulations in place six months later.
