On May 30, 2019, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin awarded Ultratec, Inc. $5.4 million in damages in a patent infringement case against defendants Sorenson Communications, Inc. and CaptionCall, LLC.
The case began in February 2014, when Ultratec alleged that Sorenson and CaptionCall infringed several patents related to “a system for computer-assisted operation of a relay system to facilitate communication between the deaf or hard-of-hearing and hearing persons.”
