Patent Infringement and Trade Secret Misappropriation Lawsuits Between Endobotics and Medrobotics End with $200 Million Settlement

    On December 8, 2020, Endobotics, LLC announced that judges in both the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts ordered Medrobotics to pay a total of nearly $200 million in damages regarding lawsuits alleging infringement of surgical tools.

    Endobotics filed lawsuits in February 2019 and April 2020, alleging Medrobotics’ Flex® Robotic System had infringed upon their patented technology relating to “hand-held laparoscopic devices,” violated the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), and violated Massachusetts trade secret law, among other allegations.
