On August 9, 2021, Electromed, Inc. announced that the medical device manufacturers experienced a data security breach within their data filing system, in which unauthorized third-parties accessed the personal data of both customers and employees.
The breached data includes: Social Security numbers, protected health information (PHI), driver’s license numbers, and financial account information. Electromed stated that they will provide “complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to involved individuals,” and has taken action to improve their cybersecurity systems and to prevent similar breaches from occurring in the future.
