Maine DAFS and CA Software Developers at Odds Over HR System Software Project Failure

    On June 20, 2021, an investigation surrounding Maine’s Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) $35 million human resources software project contract with California software development company Workday alleged that Maine state officials are primarily at fault for the multi-month-long dispute with Workday.

    DAFS hired Workday in November 2018 to upgrade the state’s HR management software, including “customized cloud-based software for payroll, recruitment, time tracking, benefits administration and security.”
