Facebook Agrees to Increased $650 Million Settlement in Data Privacy BIPA Lawsuit

The revised offer also holds Facebook’s affiliate companies, such as Instagram and WhatsApp, accountable for violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) that occurred when Facebook created templates of users’ faces for its “Photo Tag Suggest” function without consent.
