61 Recommendations for Improvement Made in Review of Failed NASA-Boeing Starliner Test Flight

    On March 6, 2020, a team of NASA-Boeing officials assigned to investigate the software errors that led to the failed December 2019 test flight of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft released a report containing 61 recommendations for fixes and improvements.

    The report identified 49 gaps in software testing which may have resulted in defective source code that ultimately caused two syncing errors between the spacecraft’s two computer systems.
